Principal - Kithsiri LiyanagamageMr.Kithsiri Liyanagamage being the present pioneer of Ananda College extends his leadership to steer the institution towards further success and prosperity setting an example to young scholars who will be the stake holders of the future progress of our motherland.

Mr. Liyanagamage was born on 1st July, 1962 in Bodhiyawatta, Poddala. He is the second son of a family of four children. His beloved father is Mr. Premasara Kihimbiya Liyanagamage and mother is Mrs. Kusuma Elan Wickramathilaka.

Being an enthusiastic student at Pahala Kihimbiya Sri Nivasa Vidyalaya, he passed his General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level examination excellently which paved him the way to enter Wanduramba Central College in 1977. Mr. Liyanagamage got through his General Certificate of Education Advanced Level examination in 1980 and gained admission to the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura for his Degree in Business Administration.

Consequently, he commenced his career life as a Manager at Ruhunu Development Bank. Continuing his education, he got through the examination of Sri Lanka Administrative Services.Having completed one year training period at Pasdunrata College of Education and at National Youth Council in 1989 he was privileged enough to become an Assistant Director of Education in Morawaka Education Zone and then the Deputy Principal at Deniyaya Central College in which he became the Principal later.

Mr. Liyanagamage had a turning point in his life in 1990 when he received a scholarship for training at University of Virginia, USA and University of London, UK. Later being appointed as a Director of the Department of Education, Southern Province, he executed his duties well enough to become the Deputy Director of Education in the Southern Province.

On a strong request made by the past students, he assumed duties as the Principal of Rahula College, Mathara. Having done a great rendition, he was a lighthouse to the scholars and as a result he was honoured with name of honor, “Vidya Vijaya Sri”. Being adjudged the best Principal of the Sothern Province, Mr. Liyanagamage was appointed as a member of the Senate of the University of Ruhuna and to the Advisory Committee of Nilvala College of Education. In addition, Mr. Liyanagamage shouldered responsibilities as the President of Sri Lanka Badminton Association and President of the Education Administration Services Association.

Having enriched his faculties by knowledge and experience he gathered from foreign exposure in Japan, the UK, Korea, Norway, Malaysia and Thailand, he strengthen his personality.

Having done a remarkable service as the Director of Education in the Southern Province Mr. Kithsiri Liyanagamage assumed his duties as the Principal of Ananda College in 2013.

Beloved spouse of Mr. Kithsiri Liyanangamage, Mrs. Lanka Nishamani Thenuwara Gamamge is an old girl of Southland Girls’ College, Galle, and a graduate of the University of Peradeniya. Presently she executes her duties as the Manager of Sri Lanla Samurdhi Authority in Baththaramulla. They are fortunate and proud parents of two beloved sons.

Mr. Kithsiri Liyanagamage is an inspiration to young Anandians to march forward to a brighter future with courage and confidence.
